I've had a few Vans before and I will say that these are quite different. The shoes are unlike the Eras or Authentics, which I like. They fit nicely except for the fact that the heels are not very supported. Before you wear them in, taking a long stride can knock the heel right off. I got the Ombre colorway and I just want to say, if you're getting these shoes, get them in the Ombre style. The colors really complement each other without being too flashy. The shoes are real head-turners, but aren't over the top. If you are planning on getting a pair of shoes for the summer or spring, I would suggest these.
These shoes are great: run true to size, form very well to the shape of your foot (due to the 100% hemp upper), and have amazing ground/board feel. The one downside to these shoes is their durability. From two months of light skateboarding to and from class without any street or park skating, just light ollies here and there, these shoes have been pretty worn. Given, they are not meant for skating; Vans could have done a little better with the durability. That being said, they are still my favorite shoes to date and I will continue to order them until they are phased out.
picked up these shoes last summer, really light weight and perfect for the beach and chillin'. ended up at the skate park a few times with out my skate shoes and used these, super comfortable with a metric shit ton of board feel but after two sessions they started to separate at the heel. I will definitely purchase these shoes again since they feel more like sandals and are perfect for cruising to the beach when the asphalt is to damn hot to walkdown barefoot. its kinda like a shoe sandal.
I used to do everything in these shoes, including hiking 10 miles. I like them because they're minimal. I just wish the toe box was a little wider after realizing all the shoes I've worn have been too narrow for promoting healthy feet/toes.
I think there's a 3mm outsole, 5mm would be better. The pair I have now have suede or something on the heel, which I like because it makes it more durable.
These are really light and are more like sandals than shoes. They are cut really low. I do really like them but from the pictures I thought the laces were stretchable and that you didn't need to tie them, but they are just regular laces. You don't need to wear the laces though. Not quite what I expected but I still really like them. The brown color ones are sick.
These are perfect for their intended use - chillin. They're not designed to skate in. I have the hemp pair and never wear them with socks. They've broken in nicely and don't stink surprisingly. I wear an 8 or 8.5 in most shoes... went with an 8 in these and love them - perfect fit.
A little tight at first. After a couple of times slipping it on and off you get the hang of it and after about a week of breaking it in it's super easy to do. Super comfy and pretty bangin. Lots of positive comments from others when I walk in the room.
