Volkl Aura Skis -

Volkl Aura Ski- Women's - 10/11:  Volkl's Aura ski is a women's big mountain ski for experts that can also take on the groomed when the snow gets firm.  The Volkl Aura ski has a 94mm waist, a full Sensorwood Light core and 2 sheets of Titanium for stability in any snow condition.  The Volkl Aura ski is your go to option for all conditions.

Powered by Titanium-

The top-of-the-line models in the Volkl Alpine ski range boast a special wood core tuning system – all powered by titanium. Above and below the XTD Sensor Wood Core or XTD Wood Core, there is a layer of titanium reinforcing the ski and adding power and stability. The thin yet extremely strong aluminium alloy extends its unparalleled dampening properties particularly at high speeds. Overall, the Volkl Aura is constructed for peak performance and stability.

Fabric:

  • Power Construction Powered by Titanium is Volkl’s longest-running construction that utilizes traditional vertical sidewalls and a torsion box internal layup. This construction provides tremendous grip, stability, and a smooth ride.

Weather and Wind:

  • Tip Rocker features an early-rise tip design and classic camber profile to give you easy, smooth turn entry regardless of conditions. In softer snow the ski is incredibly forgiving, floats better, and requires less energy to ride.

Features:

  • Sensorwood Light is CNC milled using vertically laminated Poplar and Beech wood.

2013 Volkl Aura Ski Review

Hi, its April, and this is the Volkl Aura, I'm gonna give this a 4/5 stars. Not because I didn't think it was an awesome ski, gave me a lot of positive vibes on it. Its a wider ski then I would be skiing here. It definitely made a longer radius turn a lot easier, than it did the short radius turn. Its pretty big underfoot though, so I didn't expect it to be a really quick ski. It definitely required a driver, you should stand on this ski, and be able to bend it. Wasn't very forgiving of core technique, still all in all I thought it was a great ski, It would be a fun ski, to ski on out west. Fortunately got to ski it out west last week, an thought it was awesome there to. Here on the hard pack though, a little bit wide to really call it my everyday ski. If you want something to take out west, and really have fun in the junk, and the crud with, the Volkl Aura is the way to go.

2014 Volkl Aura Ski Review

Hey, Jess here. I just got off the Volkl Aura. I would give this ski a 5 out of 5. This is an advanced to expert ski, and what's so great about it is, it's a little bit heavier, but it keeps you on edge incredibly well, and you really don't have to push as hard as I thought you might have to with this ski, and once you start to initiate that turn, it'll bring you around beautifully in short or a long turn. The only thing I will say is, if you start to sit back at all, it will charge right out from under you and you'll start to lose your balance, so you really gotta be able to lean forward and get your weight over it to control these skis.

2014 Volkl Aura Ski Review

Hi, this is Emily. I just got off of the Volkl Aura. I give this ski a 4 out of 5 for an advanced, women's skier. It was a really ski for someone who likes to make long GS carves, but the reason I don't give it a 5 out of 5 is because, on the short turns, it wasn't very manageable. It takes definitely some effort to move from edge to edge, so if you like to lock in to those long GS turns, this definitely is that ski for you, especially in any kind of crud too, it really can plow through just about anything and would have some good float in some fresh snow as well. So, a 4 out of 5 rating for an advanced skier.

2013 Volkl Aura Ski Review

Hey, this is Emily, I just got off of the Volkl Aura. I would recommend this ski for a women's big mountain skier, who's also gonna be in some fresh snow. This ski definitely ripped, I give it a 5/5 for that kind of skier. If you like to make the shorter, faster turns on groomed stuff, then I wouldn't necessarily recommend this ski for you. On the bigger mountain, wider turns, this is dynamite. Any kind of jumps you wanna make there solid landing, smooth entry and exit to every turn. A really great ski for a hard carver, so that's why I give it a 5/5 today.

2013 Volkl Aura Ski Review

Hi, I'm Julie, I just got off the Volkl Aura, I give this ski a 4/5 star rating I thought it was a little bit sluggish into the turn on the groomers. With the wider waist width it really did excel in a little bit softer snow. Nice wide shovel to get up, and over on top of the snow. Really lays down tracks well, it really held solid under the foot. I just thought I had to work a little bit more, to get it to initiate that edge on the groomers than I was anticipating.

2014 Volkl Aura Ski Review

Hi, I'm Julie, I just got off the Volkl Aura. I give this ski a 5 out of 5 star rating. I absolutely thought it was great. Full sidewall construction and that 96 waist makes it an awesome ripping ski. It actually transitions from edge to edge really easily, so 96 doesn't seem too wide on you know, groomers or, you know, hard pack conditions. A little bit of tip rocker really again helps initiate that turn really easily, so don't be afraid to go a little bit longer if you're considering between two sizes.

2014 Volkl Aura Ski Review

Hi, I'm Beth and this is the Volkl Aura. I gave it 3.5 out of 5 stars. It's listed for an expert, all mountain rider, but I could think that any really advanced-intermediate could handle it no problem. Nice damp, while being a light ski, floats over a lot of different terrain, really strong in a lot of different terrain, really comfortable, that nice, stiff Volkl tail, can handle some high speeds. The only reason for my 3.5 out of 5 stars is just because I felt a little lack of edge control directly under the foot in some icy and some hard pack conditions, but otherwise a really strong ski for someone who wants to experience a lot of different terrain. 3.5 out of 5 stars.
