Black Diamond Momentum Speed Adjust Reviews:

Reviews:

Based on features, construction and price, this harness is very hard to beat. I would recommend this harness to both beginners and more advanced climbers. It is comfortable with good cushion and ventilation.
I've been in this harness for two seasons now and love it.
Most of the info and review stuff has been covered by others here. I would just like to add that depending on your waist size, the gear loop and haul loop will either line up fine or be off in the back. For me, 5'11", 180-185lbs, 34" waist I fit in both M and L. I went with the Large because the haul loop lined up centered in the back for me.
My wife has the Primrose (women's version of this harness) and the haul loop is off to one side for her. If you hang your chalk bag here, it puts it off to one side.
My understanding is that the Momentum Dual Speed harness is the same harness with dual waist buckles. This would center everything.
In the end, if the gear loops line up, buy this harness and love it. If you are between sizes and can't get loops equally centered and balanced, get the Momentum Dual Speed.
Highly recommend; but, give four stars based on loops being off for many people in between sizes. If they line up for you... 5 stars.

I bought this in the XL size because I thought it would be nice if a harness was too big over too small. I wish I would have bought the L now that I look back,(I have about a 35 waist) but this harness has done me good! This was my first harness, and since I bought it I have done some lead climbing in the gym and A TON of top rope over the past 3 or 4 months and this harness is holding up great. Since I mainly am gym climbing I can't myself squeezing every last ounce if weight out of my equipment, (considering most gym walls aren't terribly tall.) so this harness feels relatively light, although I haven't tried many other harnesses to compare but this one feels great to me. I am still a beginner so my opinion on this harness might not be as valid as for someone who has been climbing their whole life, but I hope this helps. Great beginner harness, does what i wanted it to do and more!

This harness is safe and comfy. It is a great harness that will not be outdated as the climber reaches new levels. The speed clip is nice for newer climbers because they don't have to remember to double back. The adjustable leg loops are a must for anyone that climbs year round and want snug leg loops but want to be able to layer. The gear loops are sturdy, well placed and have a capacity that allow for multipitch trad climbing. Aside from safety, comfort is one of the most important aspects of a good harness and this is a good harness. One drawback is that it is a little heavier than some other harnesses out there but if you are that concerned about weight, cut your hair and you may make up the weight difference for much cheaper. Great buy.

The harness is quite comfortable and works well for the climbing that I do. It takes a couple days for it to loosen up and fit better, but after that it is extremely comfortable. It runs quite a bit larger than advertised on the site, I bought a large thinking it would fit me, as it matched my waist size, but I have to have it almost completely tightened to fit correctly. The Medium didn't fit symmetrically though, so if you are on the border it might be hard to pick a size.
Gear loops are well built, overall nice harness and feels like it will last for awhile. Only con is that the leg loops adjustment sliders are made of plastic.

I just got back into climbing after about 20 years. This is a really comfortable harness that won't break the bank. I almost thought I shouldn't looking for an inexpensive item when it comes to my personal safety but the other reviews put me at ease. Now that I've been using it for a couple of months, I can highly recommend it. It seems to be made really well - the fit and finish are nice. The straps seem to be smaller than my really old harness but I'm not so sure that this is an area where size matters. I have a 32" waist and normal size legs and the medium fits perfect.

Updated my 8 year old Camp Harness to this, could not be more pleased for climbing in the gym and the crags. Waist belt is very comfortable and conforming. Is a bit long for a medium, Im a 33 waist and cinched all the way. It absorbed falls very comfortably. Very light, just waiting for winter to see how it will do over my ski gear.
Pros: Comfort, weight
Cons: may be a bit big at the waist for the size, leg loops don't stay tight, waist buckle gives a little when cinched all the way, loosens by a cm or 2.
Overall worth the money, great beginner and weekend warrior harness

I bought this for indoor climbing mostly, but also use it for single-pitch sport routes, and it has been great!
Seems durable, enough loops for everything I need on shorter routes, I like the convenience of the quick-adjust leg loops but I also think I would feel more comfortable on longer routes with a traditional strap
I have hung it it for extended periods of time a couple times, and I can say it is not very comfortable in extended hangs; on longer climbs where more gear is required I wouldn't recommend this

I purchased this harness to use on leisure climbs and I have loved it. The waist and legs quickly and easily adjust to give you maximum comfort in no time.
The gear loops are well placed to allow you easy access to your climbing gear and is very comfortable to climb with. After the climb git can be easily stored out of the way with the included storage bag.
I am a 34" waist and the Medium fits me perfectly.

I work at a high ropes course and use it belaying for 5+hrs at a time. The four wide hooks make for a lot of good room to clip in all the heavy gear I haul up and down the poles easily and they're spaced far enough things don't get tangled. It's also very easy to get in and out of and fits true. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase.

The Black Diamond Momentum Speed Adjust Harness is a great harness for any type of climber. As David mentioned below, it is a well made harness for an amazing price and Black Diamond is known for high quality gear. The fit is true to size. It also comes with a sack so you are able to store your harness neatly instead of stuffing it into your climbing bag.
