comfortable pack, odd hydration sleeve
My only serious complaint is with the external access hydration sleeve. This is more of a deep pocket that is positioned between the back panel and the main compartment. It's a bit hard to access (you can barely fit your hand in it), and it hasn't any way of sealing out the rain.
I've noticed this same clumsy external hydration sleeve design on some other packs. I hope it's a fashion that goes away...or is at least improved upon.
Personally, I like having a simple hydration sleeve in the main compartment. When it's not used for a hydration pouch, it can be a useful divider pocket for a tablet or gloves or hat, etc.
That aside, overall the pack has a clean design, more comfortable than others, especially in the 20 liter range. If Black Diamond simplified the hydration sleeve by bringing it back inside, I'd give it five stars.
Great Back
Excellent Pack
I have the older version of the Nitro. This newer version sheds weight and has a grooved open foam in the back which is a new addition to help with ventilation. The hip belt is also padded and you can hike for days. This new model is more vertical and does not stick out as much keeping your weight closer to your body. Great for climbing/skiing/hiking. Awesome pack, and if you have any problems contact Black Diamond. they will fix it. Bomber pack
