I have done about 15 climbs now with my Rockstars and they fit like a glove. It took a few climbs to break them in to be comfortable, but this is common for any shoe. Just stick with them and you'll be glad you did. I mostly climb a 5.8/5.9 difficulty and these help dig into the wall on those slivers that i never think will hold but they do! These do run very close to your street shoe size so I recommend ordering same and not taking it down at all. Also, on another recommendation, I ordered two sizes and kept the one that fit best and returned the other. This did cost me the return shipping but totally worth it to have right size without wating for an exchange turn-around to get them.
I recently got back into rock climing and decided that it was time to invest in some gear. Being from the flat lands of Florida there are not many locations to try on and buy climbing shoes. After reading reviews and talking to some climbers at the gym I decided to go with the evolv rockstar. I climb indoors 3-4 days a week and these shoes have been a vast improvement over the gym rental shoes. I bought them to fit tight which has been very helpful especially as I have advanced in my climbing. I would deffinetly recommend this shoe to someone who is beginning in the sport and looking for a low cost shoe; especially if you don't have the availability to try shoes on.
So far I really like these shoes. I am a begginner/intermediate climber and was looking for a basic comfortable shoes for multi pitch routes. I was worried about ordering online without trying them on, but I went with my athletic shoe size and the climbing shoes ended up fitting perfectly. So far I climbed about 5 single pitch climbs and one multi pitch route in them and they fit like a glove. The performance is great for the outdoor climbing I do - usually no more difficult than 5.9+ or 5.10-
I've had these for a few months now and love them. They wear in really nicely, grip good and the slightly pointed toe is great for jamming. The soles have held up nicely, they are peeling back slightly in the heel, but nothing out of the ordinary wear and tear of a climbing shoe. I've used them both on rock and in the gym for multiple hours each time and they are comfortable... well, as comfortable as a climbing shoe can be...
As beginner climbers, I wanted to give my wife some decent shoes. The first I ordered were a little on the small side so I exchanged them for a size up. If you are interested in these, I would definatly buy up a size. When we got the second pair we went right to our neighborhood indoor rock gym. From a novice point of view, these shoes were more than sufficient and I would recommend them.
I just started getting into climbing about a month ago and needed a good, high quality shoe. These have been great so far. I am normally a shoe size 7.0 in women's and ordered a 7.0 which fits perfectly. Just enough of a squeeze that I can get a good grip but not too much so that my feet are killing me after one route. Would definitely recommend these!
