Amesomely versatile baselayer

This is without a doubt my favorite baselayer I have ever owned. It's quite warm, yet very thin. The Icebreaker merino is also highly breathable and for me the 200 weight is the most versatile because I don't overheat when I wear it indoors.

I'm also amazed at how the merino doesn't hold odor like synthetic baselayers do! I wear this shirt often but don't wash it every time, and it takes several wearings before it gets anywhere near "funky".

I'm a little concerned about the durability of this piece, as I imagine it will easily snag if I go charging through a patch of dense brush with reckless abandon. For that reason I feel like I have to be a bit more careful when I'm wearing it.

If this shirt cost a little less I would buy another or maybe two!

The bodyfit 200 oasis crew is a fantastic base layer. I got mine in a medium, which was a true fit. I used it first time on the river this week. It was about 30 degrees and snowing - So, between this, my puff and a shell I was toasty warm the entire time. The merino wool is real soft and did a great job keeping me warm and dry. I stayed out for a few hours with no problem. Call me gross but I'll use it a couple more times before washing, as it doesn't stink at all. Another plus of merino wool.

If this fits your right, then you'll give it 5 stars. it's made with high quality merino; it's got a durable but soft feel. And if you've ever used merino wool, you know it's hard to make it stank and it keeps you dry.
However, as a climber i have larger forearms and Icebreaker's cut is tighter than other brands. they also have longer arms that lead to some bunching, and shorter waist lines that encourage them to become untucked. I don't fall in a standard set of dimensions, so maybe this works great for most, but other brands fit me great.

Low weight - High warmth

I use this shirt in my military job. It is the perfect undergarment for extra insulation in any situation. Very hight warmth to weight ratio. You can sweat in it for many days before it starts smelling. Only problems are that it is quite delicate and needs to be handled carefully, and that the merino wool is not totally itch-free as they claim. It will itch slightly when used extensively. You can avoid this by using a thin polyester tank-top under the shirt (not cotton as it retains moisture) The sizes run small, get one size larger.

Hey all- check out the updated Oasis Crew for the Fall! We did a fit update- adding length where it was needed and improving the overall fit of the garment.
