You've witnessed Jeremy Jones destroy insane Alaska spines, thread through the tightest of couloirs, and progress backcountry riding to the loftiest of heights. Now it's time to get yours with the Jones Solution Splitboard. As Jeremy Jones' go-to board for backcountry excursions and variable snow conditions, the Solution Splitboard kills huge vertical ascents and descents with ease, thanks in part to Mellow Magne-Traction edges. Magne-Traction works like a serrated knife edge—cutting through chop, chunder, and ice with precision. Realizing that side-hilling or traversing can be a difficult task on a splitboard, Jones has incorporated Magne-Traction down the middle of the board itself for greater edge hold when split into touring mode.
A directional hybrid rocker/camber flex combines the best of both rocker and camber to deliver superior float, edge grip, and stability, There's more rocker at the tip than the tail, to help you float through super deep snow without submerging your nose underneath. The nose itself is blunted to prevent snow from billowing or plowing, for increased float without added length or swing weight. Camber underfoot adds improved grip on variable snow conditions and improves edge-to-edge response. A slightly rockered tail maintains the powerful and stable feel of a traditional board, but it keeps the tail from hanging up when initiating turns or landing switch.
Within the guts of this bad boy, you'll find a full wood core made of poplar and beech for solid snap. Carbon stringers are incorporated to improve pop and torsional stiffness, subsequently increasing the longevity of the flex profile. This board will exhibit the same precision and playfulness on day one as it does one season down the road. A sintered base, courtesy of the folks at Nidecker, adds carbon nano particles for better glide characteristics. Rounding out this stick's impressive list of features are state-of-the-art aluminum tip and tail protectors for robust durability against rough terrain and abrasive surfaces.
The blunt nose on the Solution also adds awesome float and a legit tail makes it easy to stomp around riding switch. If your backcountry plans for the season demand nothing less than the ultimate all-condition splitty, there is only one Solution for what you deserve in a splitboard.

I purchased this item as a gift and he has not had a chance to use it yet this season, but is stoked to give it a shot once winter joins us. I can update this review when I have feedback on use over looks. Overall the board is really nice. I was having problems with the first one I looked at (same board) as the color of the graphics did not match the board shown above and the split did not sit flush (not because of the magma traction, but something with the cut of that particular board). Regardless I touched base with Jones and was informed that the color is a grey graphic with a red and black base and Jones has chosen flip flop their base colors to save on materials so the base colors change but not the top sheet does not. He also said that you nor the dealer have the option on what base is ship out to the retail location. He has also assured me that all boards this season are all produced at GST in Austria and are very high quality so I may have encountered a fluke in the batch. Overall I think this will be a fun board to play around on and explore the Backcountry, but I will need to update this review once it has a few days on the snow.
The first time I rode this board, I literally yelled out "thank you Jeremy!" Cheesy, but I was running out of patience. I had been riding an older splitboard and just was not enjoying the ride down. I loved the idea of skinning in the backcountry and cruising pow so I decided to give it another chance and get a new board. And I'm glad I did! This board floats well and just rides really well in general due to its shape. Splitboard technology has come a long way since its inception and this board rides like a solid board. Camber underfoot and rocker at the nose and tail. You know, the type of board where you don't think about riding it, you just trust it and go into autopilot while slaying deep freshies. The mellow magne traction on both sides helps for not only firm conditions on the way down but also for less than ideal skin tracks and traverses on the way up. I'm 6'3 and 180 and ride the 164. I will say the flex is pretty stiff. I have probably close to 70 days on this split and it is still holding up really strong!
This splitboard is as close to a quiver killer as I have seen anywhere. The truth of the matter is that there is no such thing as an optimal board for ALL circumstances but this board is excellent in choked up couloirs, steep faces, and stomping airs of drops. It floats well in the pow and handles business very well on pitches that would be best suited for hockey skates and ice aces. The board has a great flex pattern being moderately stiff (7/10) and provides great stability for when you come straight lining out the apron of the couloir. Basically this board won't be something to hold you back in the hills, if you want dependability and performance this board will give you just that at a lesser price than the competitors. Truly a great board.
The S-rocker profile on this board is beyond amazing. The float it has keeps me above the deep stuff far along the flats at the end of a run. You can feel the big blunt nose pull up above the snow like it has a flotation device on the front. Better than the hovercraft I would think because there's no option to ride switch when weaving between trees or traversing with the hovercraft. I'm 175lbs and ride the 164. I ride a big boarder-cross board so i'm used to the size but would still recommend going bigger for extra float and support.
