Keen Venice H2 Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

I ordered this shoe, a Keen Whisper, a Teva Omnium and a Merrell Cambrian Emme. Tried them all on and walked around the house for a while comparing each one. This was the easy winner. The whisper was fine, but a little bulkier, not as attractive. The Merrell was probably the cutest one and comfortable insole, but the straps and mesh over the toes was itchy. Felt awesome with socks but I don't want to wear socks with my sandals! The Omnium was very bulky & just didn't feel good. This Venice H2 felt like I was barefoot, but better. The color goes great with jeans. I've put my summer-shoe-quest on hold because I'm pretty sure I'll be wearing these almost every day. Sending the others back. I have a narrow foot, usually wear an 8 or 8 1/2. The 8s are too small for me in Keens but 8 1/2 is perfect.

Best Sandal Ever

My feet are very hard to fit. I have broken both of them and deal with bunions as well as the results of rheumatoid arthritis. Each foot is very different - so, it is almost impossible for me to find shoes that I can wear, much less are comfortable. These sandals are the most comfortable ones I have ever found. I own 3 pair in assorted colors. Even with bad feet I still like to hike and walk and in these I can do that far longer than I can, even when I wear shoes with my orthotics. I can't say enough good stuff about them and will probably fill out my collection with one or two more colors. My only regret is that I cannot wear them in the snow.

Awesome Sandals!

I've got to say, I Love These Shoes!!!! Not only is their color wonderful (and exactly as pictured) but they FIT!!! Unlike some other shoes, when you go from one style to another, the fit may be different... Every pair of Keen I own fits EXACTLY like evey other pair of Keen!!! I LOVE that!!! I know that they will be perfect when I order them!!! They have a lot of arch support, which I don't find in other shoes of this style. They wear very well and their lifespan is long. They don't breakdown like other shoes have and they continue to look good for as long as I wear them... What more can you ask for in a shoe???

Loved this shoe. Wearing them right now (no socks). Color is fantastic. Good arch support. Look so good on my feet. So comfortable for all my toes, including my big Big Toes and my short Little Toes! I have tried them going up and down stairs and they do not press or rub anywhere, comfortable heel strap, easy to get on, seem like they will be very good for exploring outdoor trails. Definitely recommend -I tried 4 different Keens water sandals, a Merrell, an Ahnu, and a Kamik and these are the best for me. I have many problems with my feet (hammertoes, neuroma, Achilles, etc.) and these seem to work for me.

Happy with my purchase

I am glad I finally decided to spend the money to purchase these Keens. They are very comfortable and are much more supportive and protective than other brands I've had, and dry very quickly. The sizing of this style runs a little on the small side, so if you are in between sizes or can wear more than one size shoe I'd get the bigger one. These sandals were a great investment and are good for everything from casusal hiking to kayaking, to wearing on the beach, gardening or just doing things around the house or running errands. My mom liked mine so much that she just ordered a pair too!

This will be very boring. I have worn these shoes for the past five years. I buy many shoes during the year. I buy cute shoes, sexy shoes, boots, but I always end up wearing these shoes. I live in Mexico part of the year and it is great for the cobblestone streets and is totally waterproof. I came back to the USA to make some money and I was wearing my five year old shoes. This pair is my first purchase from Zappos. The exact same shoe style, but in a different color. Zappos provided great service. My old Keens can go another year at least.

Versatility exemplifed

I purchased these sandals for walking on the beach at Cape Cod, and they exceeded my expectations. They felt broken in immediately (although ran a 1/2 size small), and I used them to explore tidal pools, rock jettys, and on a sailboat. Traction was excellent and straps didn't allow much sand to get inside. They were comfortable hiking on the beach many miles day after day, as well as walking on paved surfaces. No blisters whatsoever! I'd previously bought the Keen Taos and had some strap-rubbing with them, but nothing uncomfortable about the Venice. Would definitely buy them again!

I love these shoes! They are so beyond comfortable. I have to wear close-toe shoes for my job sometimes, I'm a marine biologist and it is required on the boat. These fulfill that requirement and allow for your feet to stay cool! They also are still comfortable when wet, and they do not slide around on deck. This is the second pair of Keen brand sandals and I will continue to buy them forever! They are perfect for life on the beach or on the go or for anyone who wants a cute, comfortable shoe!

Love love love these sandals! They dont give me blisters and are easy to put on. I wear them daily in the summer, very comfortable to walk and hike in. Get them wet, and they dry quickly. Love them in our many Moab trips - they grip slickrock really well. The saddest thing is putting them away for winter! I have another pair of Keen shoes that I wear in the winter, and they are just as comfortable. Keens have definitely given my Birkenstocks a run for their money!

Couldn't sail without them

My old Keens wore out after a decade of regular weekend use. They are excellent for sailing with safe grip and foot protection moving around as 1st Mate. There was a mix-up on my order. These were on B/O and after weeks indicated they could not be filled. I actually found similar Keens on sale (rare) so ordered those. These showed up at my door about the same time as the others. Loved them both so keeping both!

Negative Reviews:

I tried on a pair of Venice H2 sandals in a shoe store, and liked them, but they didn't have the color I wanted. So I was excited to find them on Backcountry.com, and for $20 less than the shoe store. I already knew I needed a half size larger than my usual, because I had tried on the identical shoes. What I didn't realize, though, was that trying them on with socks on in the store was different from wearing them barefoot at home. There is a seam that runs the length of inside of the top of the shoe, and it left a painful indentation in the top of my foot. To be fair, I am very sensitive to seems (I wear all of my socks inside out) so this may not be a problem for those with tougher feet. But for me, the bottom line is that I'm glad Backcountry.com had a good return policy, because these shoes definitely need to go back.

Not what I expected

I am disappointed with these sandals. They are too small, hit my ankle bone, and rub against the back of my ankle. They are uncomforatble and not very supportive.
Maire at Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS) on 02/02/2008

The shoes were too wide, and when I tried to tighten them up, the toe then curled up and the shoes were then too short.

rbe5562024 at Backcountry.com on 05/26/2012

I'd love to write a review but it appears the shoe IS NOT AVAILABLE IN MY SIZE! Botheration!

Neutral Reviews:

The shoe was really nice, but I just couldn't get it to fit right. One size was too loose the next smaller was too tight. I was really disappointed that I couldn't manage to have one or the other fit. I have to say though that the return policy is great and I was pleased with the service... just wish the shoe fit.

whe5177821 at Backcountry.com on 12/27/2011

I have had keens sandals for years. These are the same comfortable fitting shoes I am used to but I do feel that are not quite as well made as previous purchases.
