Take the duckbill boots and cable bindings to the swap; the Scarpa Terminator X Telemark Boot is the new boss in the backcountry. Compatible with NTN and TLT binding setups, the Terminator gives you the choice of riding with a free or fixed heel. The 100% Pebax shell keeps the weight down for long tours, and the Intuition Performance Flex G liner provides a precise out-of-the-box fit.
Designed for compatibility with Rottefella NTN Freedom touring bindings and Dynafit-style tech bindings, the Scarpa Terminator X boots have the power to drive modern backcountry skis down steep lines.

I got this boot to match with the NTN Freedom binding. I'm coming off Scarpa T2 Eco's (older light green ones), so most of this review will be anchored to that example.
Range of motion: It is big, but it is biased forwards. The cuff doesn't feel like to goes as far back as my older T2 Eco's, but it goes way further forward. So, walking on flats (parking lots) I feel a bit restricted. When climbing & skiing, I don't notice.
Buckles: I like 'em, but I wish the ankle (middle) strap was shorter. New, out-o-the-box I am already feeling like there is no room left to really crank down the boots. Replacements (shorter) from scarpa are about $15ea. I may buy or cut/crimp the existing ones shorter. I also wish they would have left the bottom buckle reversed like on the T2.
Fit: the length is the same, but the boot "feels" a bit narrower near where the bottom buckle is riveted to the outside of the boot. I've had the liners baked, but there is still a pressure point that I can feel even when I put my old liners in the new boots. And, I added a 1/8" shim to the top of the heel pad in the shell to fill a gap that was there. Deliberate or not, it didn't feel right 'till I put the shim in.
Overall a good boot - but I might need to get it punched to fit right (the only one of 3 pairs of scarpa teles i've owned).
Very smooth flex compared to the T2 eco, no break in required. Superb liner is comfortable all day long.
I feel that this boot with NTN Freedom gives a more precise feel and a more predictable flex than the T2 + BD01 that I used before. Feels like a very good set up for varied North East conditions on K2 Sideshow (90mm waist) skis.
