The North Face Apex Glove Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

I got these gloves mostly because I ride a bicycle year round to get places. When it starts getting colder the "liner" gloves, knit gloves, etc. dont cut it. The wind goes right through them and you might as well have nothing on your hands... those are for driving or walking or like their name suggests... as liners.
But at the same time I don't like wearing bulky full winter gloves/mittens becuase you lose all dexterity. These gloves do a great job. Theyre warm enough while I bike around. They're water proof incase it rains. And theyre thin enough that I can still do things like manipulate my house keys and phone (although touch screens don't work with these on).
For everyday use I would have preferred a shorter cuff. These cuffs are like normal winter gloves... they extend past the wrist and over your jacket sleeve. It's a good thing to most people but I just prefer mine shorter like on the liner gloves.
They're also great for the ski slopes if its not FREEZING. Any normal day these would be great to have on. The cuff that I dislike for everyday would work well to keep out the snow if you fall. And you keep more dexterity so you can strap into your board more easily.
Great glove.

This is another glove that I have a few pairs of. So light and nimble. Great as a liner or on it's own and surprisingly warm. I used to live in Chicago ... and it gets COLD. These gloves were my go to shoveling glove and my hands were always warm. I've used them spring skiing and for just about every winter activity imaginable. I buy a new pair every year whether I need them or not.

I tried these on last night on a whim. I've been looking for some good ice climbing gloves and I think these will work well. Good rubber dots for grip. The material is quality. The size runs a tad big. I pretty much always wear XL gloves and the Large fit best, probably because the material is a little stretchy. I'll add to the review once I have used the gloves.

These may seem thin, but they do the job! They're thin so dexterity is still there, they don't get in the way. The inside has a nice fleece lining, nice and soft on the hands. Have worn these riding my motorcycle, and they definitely keep the wind at bay. Overall, a great pair of gloves! Use them as a liner, and you'll be set for any kind of weather.

Bought these gloves last year and they are great. Looks great with any TNF apex jacket too!! The grips on the palms of the gloves are a great added feature

Negative Reviews:

I had high hopes ...

As others have stated - I also own a number of TNF products that have served me very well. I am a 4 season bike commuter in Wisconsin and encounter lots of climate changes. I had hoped these would be a good spring/fall glove on their own - warm, moderately water resistant, etc - things I expect out of a soft shell material. So far - they have proven to not keep my hands warm on bike commutes of about 35-40 degrees and today I wore them through a 40 minute rain and the gloves completely wetted through about half way through my ride. I really like the fit/looks of these gloves - but I don't think the soft shell material holds up to my expectations for this kind of use. I think they will be heading into the 'driving gloves' pile, unfortunately.
