The North Face Borealis Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

I purchased this backpack about three weeks ago and have been using it for two weeks. I'm already very happy with this purchase. It was a bit pricey, but it was definitely worth it. The zippers are tough and sturdy, so I don't have to worry about breaking them by over-stuffing the bag. In addition, the midsection strap really made a difference when I was schlepping my laptop, notebooks, and textbooks across campus. It was quite a relief to my shoulders. The backpack is also roomy enough to use as an overnight bag. I'll be using it as an airplane carry-on from now on, since it's more comfortable and convenient than any of the tote bags I've used before. I can already tell I'll get a lot of use out of this bag. After seeing my Borealis and hearing how much I like it, my boyfriend bought the men's version online. Hopefully he'll love it as much as I do! I would recommend this bag to anyone; it's the most versatile, comfortable backpack I've ever had.

I just began using this backpack yesterday. My travel involves approximately 41 hours of straight through traveling (five airplanes, and one helicopter through international areas). There aren't always easy ways to exit the plane and get to your next area, so having a backpack, rather than a rolling bag is a great advantage. I've tried other backpacks and this is absolutely the most comfortable bag ever! It makes a great deal of sense to scale the pack to a typical woman's size rather than a one size fits all. I have this filled up completely AND have things under the straps and hanging and I can still wear it comfortably (and get to my next passport area before everyone else because I'm not dragging or carrying anything to slow me down).

The bag is just what I am looking for as far as accommodations and room. I am medical student and I am planning on using this bag every day. The laptop slot could be a bit more padded I wasn't expecting the padding to be that thin. The other negative point about this bag is there is so many hooks and clips. I ended up clipping them off because they are not useful and used fire from a lighter to make sure the edges would not disintegrate. The bag is beautiful and have the perfect amount of compartments and great organization.

Great backpack!

I purchased this backpack for the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year in the pink with black and I absolutely love it!! It is so durable and has so much room and different pockets to help stay organized & a laptop sleeve that is so convenient! It is a great color, and definitely big enough to fit all of my high school textbooks and looking foward to using this the next 4 years! :)

Great Women's Backpack!

I started using a backpack again going back to grad school and walking 2.5 miles a day. My old backpack (also northface) held a lot more than this one, but it's certainly better for my back now that I have to ration my items. It's a great bag, just less space than I am used to. But it's so comfortable, I almost walk around town with it instead of my purse...

Good Purchase

I love this backpack. The only thing that I don't like is that it isn't as big as I thought it would be. My friend had the same one, but she's had it for longer. She says that it does stretch out after you wash it. But it is very comfortable, stylish and an excellence bag all around.

Well Designed and Constructed Pack

This pack stands up to any day pack that I have owned previously. In addition to being roomy and highly functional it fits my torso very well. The best feature about it though is I'm confident this pack is durable and will be around for a long time, which is consistent with the TNF brand.

Got this as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She really likes it, and it is perfect for her small frame. We both think it will get her through her four years of college because it is very well made. She may get tired of it before it wears out...her words not mine.

fine for law school

I really enjoy the high quality and the fact that I can comfortably carry an amount of stuff that would kill me with any other bag, without worrying about any of it getting damaged because of the well-defined pockets. I especially love the laptop sleeve.

Great backpack

I use this for school. Works great, tons of room. I was leery of ordering from this site after seeing some bad reviews, but I'm glad I did. It saved me a bunch of money that I don't have because I'm in 10th grade lol

A little small, but good quality

I use the pack for weekend travel and as an airplane carry-on. Bought this to replace my old Columbia pack that I'd had for over 10 years. This pack is smaller than I expected. Had trouble fitting in the typical weekend stuff - Kindle, a few clothes, make up case and a paperback that I was used to carrying in my old pack. Doesn't seem to have the expandability width-wise. This pack could also use a few more outside pockets - again - this is what I was accustomed to. Will have to wait and see if it lasts over the years.

Supportive backpack, not enough room

I like this backpack, it's weightless when I put it on but the opening is so narrow. Whenever I try to put my textbooks or laptop inside I have to take everything out and rearrange it. Its hard to barely fit a three subject notebook, a small text book and my laptop in side, I don't know how i feel about this backpack. I wish there was a bigger gallon for womens fit.

Middle School Book Bag

We purchased this pack for my 12yr old son. It 'fits' him very well and is comfortable. I upgraded to this pack since it had the laptop protection, but once he puts his 3" binder in there, the laptop won't fit. The lunch bag won't fit inside either, it's clipped to the top strap.
