The North Face Condor Triclimate -

The North Face Men's Condor Triclimate Jacket (or Three Climates of the Condor) features a three-in-one jacket system that allows you to manually control your warmth/coverage levels. The outer hard shell is seam-sealed HyVent, fully waterproof, and the Zip-Out fleece is TNF Apex ClimateBlock which can be worn separately for lightweight weather protection. This jacket was named after the condor bird, as it is often known to remove its outer layer of feathers in warmer conditions.... this doesn't seem right. Options are nice and the North Face Condor Triclimate Ski Jacket gives you versatility when it comes to layering depending on the weather conditions. It's a three-in-one jacket meaning you have all the choices you need to ensure you remain as comfortable as possible. The exterior is made with HyVent Technology which boasts an incredible waterproof rating to prevent moisture from seeping in but is also breathable enough to allow sweat from the interior out. The softshell liner is where you're going to get your insulation on those frigid winter days. With its TNF Apex ClimateBlock insulation you can expect to stay warm and have a nice waterproof shield that also has windproofing. Wear the exterior with the softshell liner on those cold days, remove it and have a shell if you'd like, or take that liner and don it in those October days when it's too cold to go jacketless and too warm for a winter coat. You'll have a removable hood if you need one and quite a few pockets that will happily hold some of the things you want to bring along on the slopes. There's also an internal media pocket so you can roam listening to your recently downloaded tunes. The North Face Condor Triclimate Ski Jacket really has it all when it comes to warmth and comfort. It provides versatility and offers you stylish protection against the weather regardless of the time of year.

It seems like The North Face Men's Condor Triclimate Jacket is always with you when you're on the mountain. A HyVent 2L membrane with fully taped seams makes the shell of this jacket just right for rainy hikes in the summer. Despite its waterproof protection, the shell is incredibly breathable so you don't stifle with exhaustion on the hike's steepest sections. The removable liner uses TNF Apex ClimateBlock to boost warmth and handle poor weather conditions in fall and spring. Combine the two for an ideal protector against winter's stormy and cold weather at the ski resort.

The North Face made the Condor's outer shell with an adjustable hood that cinches tightly across your head when winter's weather takes a windy turn, and you can remove it when there's nothing but a sunny sky above you. Adjustable cuffs and hem keep the jacket in place when blustery winds breeze across your body.

Great Jacket!

Its warm enough to handle the coldest days where I live in the mid-east USA. The zip-in liner enables the owner to have a great flexibility in adjusting the insulation. Its basically three jackets, a winter coat, a water resistant shell, and the liner alone is good in cool weather with low wind. The two side pockets are large enough that if you are going to be carrying something large like googles or even binoculars. The front pockets I haven't found a good use for yet, maybe good if you have some beef jerky or energy bars for the trails. There are only two reasons I don't give it a 5 star rating. The inner liner is fleece and the inside of the fleece isn't smooth. It doesn't allow you to slip on the coat easily if you have long sleeves made of cotton or similar rougher fabric. The down-like liner would make this easier to slip the sleeves through. The other reason is if you are looking to do some serious treking, rock climbing, or mountainering, the jacket lacks the ventilation on the underarms or back that some other jackets offer. To be honest, Im not sure this is what this jacket was designed to do, nor have I tried this jacket on something needing this ventilation yet. Over-all - this is a great jacket!

pretty good

not to bad it keeps you warm alone in 30° weather the water proofing is amazing and you can't even feel the wind and Iive in far rockaway across the street from the beach so it's pretty windy . just wear it with a sweater and you'll be hot in 10° and that'sfrom personal experience. the inner shell is also very good it looks nice and is waterproof aswell. only complaint it could'vebeen a little warmer with a better inner shell but like I said pretty warm with a sweater on.

How to clean it?

I bought the jacket last year, I like it very much. Now I'd like to know how to clean it. May it be machine washed? Any special actions should I take?

Triclimate Failure

I like this jacket, but it really does not handle some weather like I wanted. I am in Oklahoma and we recently had 10-25 degree weather w/ freezing rain and snow. I got this jacket to have an all-purpose jacket setup everyday use that looked professional. Many of my needs were met but not all of them. The jacket(s) look great. I have gotten numerous complements on the Apex ClimateBlock fleece. It looks professional and is light enough I wear it indoors comfortably. The HyVent® hard shell also looks great. Over all this jacket looks professional, but it does not function as well as I wanted. This Jacket was bought as a winter jacket, but this is definitely not a good winter jacket on its own. This jacket failed to keep me warm walking in the snow at 20+/-5 degrees with the Apex ClimateBlock fleece as the lining. In order to fix this I purchased a down lining and it worked wonderfully. This does raise the cost of the jacket though, and I will talk about how I felt about the cost at the end. Now I want to talk about function. Pocket vents really made this for me. I do not need armpit vents because I am not into winter sports. I found the HyVent® hard shell with this jacket to be more comfortable of all the jackets I tried on. I am also a big fan of the two pockets up top. I have put some large stuff in those pockets and highly value the space. I also find the other pockets are huge and I am very happy with the space in the HyVent® hard shell. The only thing that lacks is the bottom pockets get cold because they lack a fuzzy lining. Finally the pockets in the Apex ClimateBlock fleece are so useful. The interior pockets are large and can fit a 10 inch tablet. Now the big question is, was all this worth what I paid for it? I cannot say anyone should buy this jacket without a few caveats. You will need to buy another jacket to put into this setup to handle really extreme weather. I ended up with a $290 jacket that required a $150 fix to be what I wanted. This was my first product with the company. I am not that happy with how it ended up for $440. I would have returned it, but I removed the tags and I bought local. I would recommend anyone considering this jacket be very careful. Definitely consider other options such as the Vortex Triclimate Jacket (this is what I would get given a second chance). If you want a Triclimate jacket without armpit vents, and want an Apex ClimateBlock fleece this might be the jacket for you.

Expensive windbreaker

I bought this at NF based on the store's recommendation. Took off the tags and took it on a 10 day trip thru the midwest. It does not keep one warm in 25 degree weather (and I'm from cold climates). Actually went on the website to see if the inner liner got changed by mistake, no luck. . Really nothing more than a $300 windbreaker. I will now need to spend more to get a liner that works. In addition, the inner liner that comes with the coat is made of material that grabs any shirt making it difficult to put on and remove the coat. Unfortunately I don't know if I will be able to return it when I get back but the worst coat purchase I ever made

Nice looking coat but not super functional

I received this coat for Christmas as a gift. I'm 6'2, 170 pnds, slim build. I got a medium and it fit perfect. The problem was it did not keep me warm enough. I was cold in anything 25 or colder. It is a sharp looking coat but for $300 I expected better functionality. I ended up exchanging for the Vortex Triclimate and have zero regrets. In addition, I hated the internal lining as it would bunch up my long-sleeved shirts.

Not as anticipated

This is my first NorthFace product. I got this jacket after spending some time in TNF store and looking at all the options. However, I wore it in Boston during Tahnksgiving when the temperatures were close to 21 degrees and I did not feel really warm in this jacket. I expected it to be really great after spending ~$300 but definitely going to return it.

Jacket is very sleek and fits comfortably, but not warm enough for Minnesota weather. It's really a fall and spring jacket although if worn with a sweater or flannel underneath it's great. not worth 309.00 dollars at scheels
