CWX Stabilyx 3/4 Tight -
CWX designed the Women’s ¾ Length Stabilyx Tight with the support commonly reserved for folks with muscle and joint injuries. Their logic is, quite sensibly, that an ounce of prevention avoids a ton of physical therapy. (And really, who enjoys those appointments?) CW-X’s patented Conditioning Web supports each muscle group in your leg and holds your knee steadily in place. Extra support at the waistband lends a little extra power to your lower back and core muscles. And fortunately, even when the temps start testing your sweat glands, the CWX Stabilyx Tight’s Coolmax fabric speedily wicks away excess moisture. Rather than feeling damp and overheated, you’re free to focus on your run.

Fabric:

  • 80% Nylon / 20% LYCRA 2-way stretch Support Web: Provides Targeted Support to knee and core joints and muscles
  • Flat seam construction reduces abrasion and increases comfort
  • Lite Stretch 4-way stretch mesh fabric for Stabilyx Ventilator Shorts

Support and Cushioning:

  • Women's specific design and support pattern

Waistband:

  • Key pocket and double-reinforced waistband around flat draw cord

Logo/Graphics:

  • Reflective logos provide extra visibility

Features:

  • UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rated at 40+
  • UPF 50+ for UVA/UVB protection
  • 80% COOLMAX / 20% LYCRA 4-way stretch body fabric: Helps to keep the body cool and dry, pulls moisture away from the body and carries it to the outside of the tight
Campmor
The CW-X 3/4 Stabilyx Tight for women was created to provide superb support to your core and your knees, they are optimized for lateral motion that occurs in sports like skiing and snowboarding. That's because the Women's CW-X 3/4 Stabilyx Tight bands lower leg muscles and ligaments together to help stabilize your knees and potentially reduce energy-tapping vibrations. CW-X also added this Support Web™ stability (it rolls off the tongue better than "kinesiology-taping technology") to the midsection to support your hips, back and lower abdominal muscles, so you're more inclined to channel energy through your core. Because the 3/4 Stabilyx Tight uses variable compression, it helps enhance your blood circulation during and after sports activities. While the effects of compression technology vary from athlete to athlete, some sports enthusiasts find that this enhancement helps minimize lactic acid build up, so you're less fatigued during and after a day on the slopes.

Paragon Sports
The Stabilyx tights provide optimum targeted support to the core and knees. They're ideal for activities with lateral motion such as skiing and snowboarding and for athletes seeking our best form of knee support. The patented CW-X Support Web bands together the muscles and ligaments of the lower leg to stabilize the knee and reduce vibration for increased efficiency. The CW-X Support Web also harnesses the midsection, supporting the lower abdominals, hips and back to channel power through the core. Variable compression facilitates circulation during and after activity, minimizing lactic acid build-up so that you can be active longer and recover faster.

Positive Reviews:

Amazing. And I agree with BonnieLass, the knee support is great but what these do to your butt, well you have to see for yourself! Keeps everything in where it should and makes you feel secure and supported in all the right places. High enough waistband to tuck in most of the wobblies. I am 5"4 and on the size chart was inbetween a S and a M - I chose an M because my tummy is bigger than my butt and legs and I didn't want to feel like a constricted sausage. I opened the pack and laughed my head off thinking there was no way I was going to get into a M. Well like everyone says they are a bit tight to get on but once they are on, they fit like a comfortable glove. If in doubt, I would go for the size up if you are in the grey area in the sizing chart. Only thing I have noticed is that my hip to knee length ratio is not quite right - ie the area where your kneecap is supposed to fit is slightly lower than my kneecap as I have shorter thighs - just means that there is a little bit of bunching at the back of my knees but once I get going I don't notice this at all.
Thoroughly recommend these!

Ok, so I got these to support my knees and IT band. I chose the 3/4 length because 1) they were on sale, 2) I was afraid to try to get into the full-length ones!
I am 5'7", 145-150. Solidly in the Medium (go to the CW-X site for excellent size charts). *yeah, right* When I got them I laughed, but gamely followed the instructions to get them on. Well, dang. They do fit. And dang... look at my butt! (I'll just hide that roll above the waistband under a nice loose running shirt!)
They're not gonna do miracles, but while running, they do feel supportive. And I liked pulling the waistband up in back to support my lower back. Less post-run fatigue? Maybe. I kept mine on for an afternoon and wasn't uncomfortable. So you could probably wear them for recovery gear also.
A funny feature: I didn't see a review that mentioned the drawcord waist. Think about that for a moment... These are hardcore compression gear. A drawstring? Seriously? I decided that the cord must be a safety device... you wrap it around your wrist so if the pants explode while you're running, you won't kill someone. I pulled mine out. I didn't like that bow in front detracting from my butt ;)

My runs go a lot better when I'm wearing these pants. Not only are they supportive and make my knees feel great but they look good so I feel better! They are tight so I don't like to wear them for long after my runs because I start to get itchy where they bunch behind the knees. While running I have no discomfort though. I like the 3/4 length vs the full length pants.
I love how the stitching is colorful and crosses all over the pants. It gives them a unique, fun look.
Even though these are not the CW-X insulated pants, they are still warm. I can't wear them above 70 degrees outside. It's so hard to run in shorts instead of these amazing pants though.
The only thing that I do not like: the drawstring waist band. It's weird tying it in a bow tie and trying to tuck it into the pants or letting it hang out. Also, mine was fraying so I put fray check on it which made the edge a little rough. Ultimately I pulled the string out.

I am a male, 6 foot, 175 pounds, and fit the women's large better than the men's large as recommended by a retailer. I thought she was crazy thinking I would fit the women's medium best. So i stayed with the women's large over the men's large which was too loose in the knees. They do a good job of supporting my knees. I have used them in mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, photography-back country photo shoots, and soon snowboarding as winter arrives. You definitely can feel the support in the knees, and hips/core areas. Great technical garment. I get some second looks in a 3/4 length capri in green stitch piping, but full length will not work in a ski/snowboard boot. I care about my knees and function far more than worrying about what other people think of the look on me. Highly recommend this item for anyone wanting or needing the support these tights provide. Well worth the price. I do wish they were another inch or so longer.

Amazing!!

As soon as I got the tights I wore them for a weekend of running: 7 miles Saturday, 20 miles Sunday. Despite the rather horrific Florida humidity, and I sweat heavily, they wicked away sweat quickly and the pants remained fairly dry the entire time. I washed them on gentle in a net lingerie bag and hung to dry, and they were ready for my run the next day. I could feel the tights kick in support around my knees and IT band when I needed it, and despite a lot of hip pain on long runs in the past, I didn't experience ANY hip pain in these tights. I'm sold. I want a pair for every day of the week, they rock!!!
I was nervous about getting the Medium, but they fit great, so you can trust the size chart.
Oh, and this morning about 5 people told me that my butt looks great in them :)

OK, I admit I was a bit skeptical about the claims, but after wearing these pants for the first time over a 100km race I am hooked! I love them! Years of beating my body up means my calves and hips aren't always the most willing participants and I find myself covered in strapping tape at races, hoping to keep everything tracking the way nature intended. I've even resorted to sticking ice in my race suits to keep inflammation at bay! Brrrr!! But since donning these pants neither ice nor tape has been required, and I've lined up, competed and completed as a glistening picture of (burger eating) sweat soaked, tape-free fitness! Plus, as an added bonus, they hold in the wobbly bits just nicely!
I love these pants and will soon claim the entire range with the short and long versions finding a home in my closet!

These are fantastic! Just like everyone else I was skeptical, but all the reviews are so positive and I have a friend who owns them and swears by them so I had to try them. I must say, I love them. These make me want to go run; who knew a pant could make you feel better WHILE you exercise?! I was an athlete in college (softball i.e. not a runner), but now I feel like my half marathon goals are attainable.
My friend and I are both 5'11" and we both wear a size L. She is skinnier than I am, but these seem to be tightest in the calf/back of the knee...since I have pretty fit/skinny legs a L is perfect for me...if you have large calves you may need to go up a size.

Lilah at Backcountry.com on 09/22/2012

I was in desperate need of new capris & heard great things about the stabilyx tight. To be honest, first run I didn't love them as I felt they bunched up around the backs of my knees. Gave them another shot & found the perfect fit. I love how they hold everything in & make me feel supported.
They were warmer than I thought they would be, so take that into consideration when heading out for a run. In honestly I almost like them more for post-runs than running in them.
My mom (who just ran the Boston Marathon on Monday) swears by them. Also saw a lot of other marathoners in them, so that has to mean something!
Btw, 5'7", 135lbs and I have a size Medium. They look tiny, but fit perfect!

Jess at Backcountry.com on 04/18/2013
These tights are fantastic. When you first take them out of the package, the task of putting them on may seem daunting because they LOOK like pants for a small child. But, rest assured, they stretch a LOT. Perhaps there should be some sort of special tool to get these things on - like a shoe horn, only larger. Regardless, once they are on, they are supremely supportive and comfortable. Excellent range of motion. I’m in the thick of marathon training, and I wear them on my long runs. I truly believe they help me run farther with less fatigue, and the compression speeds recovery of the muscles after the run. I will most likely be investing in another pair.

I bought one size larger than the size chart indicated, and it's a good thing I did--I didn't think I could get them on the first time I wore them! I was absolutely miserable in the tights for the first 3 or 4 hours of continuous wear (I wasn't creepy sweaty and just wore them around the house) and was thinking seriously of returning them. However, after that 4th hour, they began to give better. Subsequent wearings were much easier to pull on and position, and my comfot level is just fine. I still suggest to anyone, however, that you purchase one size greater that what you normally purchase.

Negative Reviews:

These things stink!

Tight as can be to put on ... but apparently supposed to be. But, if you aren't the perfect size/shape for them ... the taping feature doesn't sit where it is supposed to. Backs of my knees got terribly chaffed and the knee taping pushed downward on my knee cap causing pain where I never had it before. And, the calves (which had no coverage) hurt because everything else was supported. Absolutely hate these things. Waste of my money. Live and learn.
