Fits a bit different than 1st version

I am giving these four stars instead of five due to the difference in fit from the PureCadence 1. I had been running in the 1st version of this shoe for almost a year. I decided to use my REI coupon to get a new pair, but Brooks has moved on to version 2. These are still great shoes. I consider them "minimal inspired" as they are probably not true minimal shoes. I tend to over pronate on my left foot and did not have a problem in these at all. They offer some support, but are definitely a much more streamlined, light shoe, than a traditional support running shoe. They are comfortable and still provide some cushioning for running. The main difference I found was the sizing. I usually wear a 6 in regular shoes, 6.5 in running. The PureCadence 1 I needed to size up a whole size, to 7. These PureCadence 2, I think run truer to size, and I probably needed a 6.5. Overall if you are looking to transition from a "regular" running shoe to something more minimal, these are a great first pair!

Brooks PureCadence 2 Road-Running Shoes

I use them for walking & running on pavement. I love minimalist shoes but I would literally wear those out, especially the heels. So when I found these I was super excited! They aren't true minimalist but they are close enough that I still love them. The heel has a good amount of padding in it so that is a huge plus. I ran the Army 10 miler in them with less than 2 weeks of break in time & they were wonderful! I hate to "cheat" on my minimalist shoes but these are going to be my new pavement shoes. These are light weight but still cushion your feet. If that's what you're looking for, you found it.

Would definitely buy these again!

Great shoes. Prior to buying these I was going to buy the newer version of the Ravennas, as that's what I had last and loved. Our REI didn't carry the new Ravenna, so I tried on the Pure Cadence, partly because they're purple. So far, I love them -- they're comfortable, lightweight, good for short- to long-distance runs, and they look good ;) Brooks hasn't disappointed me yet!

Great Shoe my second pair!

These are great shoes! I have wide flat feet, and these shoes feel great!
They are my second pair, they wear well! They are a good investment!

Negative Reviews:

Terrible shoes

Shoes are different sizes, right and left, one loose and one tight. Brooks design of the offset lace system causes shoes to apply pressure on the top of the foot and results in toes going numb. Not a good feeling. Buy another brand. This generation of Brooks are very poor.

Neutral Reviews:

Wanted to love these, but had to return.

I have the Brooks Pure Connect 2, which I like a lot. Since I've been increasing my running distance I thought it would be a good idea to get a show w/ a little more support. The color of the shoe is great. Loved it. The shoe feels supportive. But it feels very narrow, much more so than the Pure Connect. Took the shoes for a 3 mil test run and my feel hurt the entire time. For me, they were too tight. I have an average width foot and bought the same size I have in the PC2. I do think these and the PC2 run about a 1/2 size smaller in general. Also, these shoes did not breathe well. There was plenty of cushion and the 4mm drop prevents you from heel striking if that's what you want. Also, the color was great, very stylish. However, I reluctantly had to return as these were not comfy for me feet.
