Most people stop camping in wintertime, but you pack up and get out, and the Montbell Men's Mirage Down Parka is the reason why. This parka uses some of the finest down around—900-fill goose down—to warm you right up when you wake up in your winter wonderland. Its Ballistic Airtight fabric makes this parka incredibly lightweight and surprisingly durable too.
The Mirage features a hood that cinches tightly across your head when blustery blizzards try to breeze down your body. Alpine cuffs also seal out those nasty cold fronts, and a drawcord hidden in the pockets helps keep in all that wonderful warmth when you cinch it down. When the fire isn't warming up your numb mitts, stuff them in the hand-warmers so you can feel again.
The Mont Bell Mirage Parka is made with 7-denier ballistic nylon and full box construction this ultra-lighter’s dream is packed full of high lofting 900 fill down and offers unsurpassed warmth to weight ratio. With insulation accounting for over 40% of the garment weight the Mirage Parka feels like you’re wearing next to nothing…except maybe a shroud of pure warmth! An excellent piece when you’re in need of warmth from every gram of your mid-layer.

I hadn't heard of Mont Bell before so I was worried about how this jacket would stack up compared to more well known brands. It turned out that my gamble paid off. The quality is great, and the fabric it is made from is excellent. At first I was very careful with the jacket because of how thin the outer fabric is, however, it is actually rather tough. The down compresses really well as it should for 900 fill and puffs up nicely. It is really warm and keeps my body at a comfortable temperature. I would highly recommend this jacket. I am 5'11'' and 180 lbs and medium fits well.
This jacket is deceptively warm. The full box baffle construction makes a huge difference compared to other "lightweight" jackets on the market. I compared this to the Mountain Hardwear Phanton and the Patagonia Hi-Loft Hooded Sweater; beats them both in warmth by a long mile.
The only negative I have to say is that the jacket seems a bit too baggy. I'm 5'8", 145lbs, 40" chest, and bought the Medium. Maybe a Small might have fit me better. :-/
