Positive Reviews:

I continue to order these glasses over and over again. I've had them in gold, silver and gunmetal(my current fav). They are on the more delicate side and once bent are never quite the same. As mentioned below, the tips of the arms do scratch the lens after a while. Regardless these are awesome glasses and look good on everyone I've seen try them.

Kira at Backcountry.com on 04/19/2012

These lasted me for about three months of aggressive use. I liked the way they looked, but had to return them when the frame broke. I've been happier with the durability of some oakleys that I've owned, but then again Oakley customer service sucks. With the Smith warranty, and BC's awesome return policy, these are probably a good choice.

These sunglasses offer a classic aviator design for a great casual look and are backed by Smith's high quality construction. These are my second pair after the first survived two years of heavy use. I went with gunmetal/gray this time. Also keep an eye out for the slim and polarized variations.

The arms tend to hit inside of the lens marking them up, just be careful with them. Other than that, they rule. I would not use these for hiking, skiing, biking etc. These are nice for going out & having fine with you buddies.

These are some sweet "hang-time" glasses. Light and comfortable with classic frame style. If you like frames a bit larger, look at the Showdown.

These sunglasses look great, curve nicely with the "contour" of my face, and keep poisonous sun rays out of my eyes. Treat them nicely and they will return the favor. What more could you as from a pair of sunglasses?

Matt Teuling at Backcountry.com on 09/01/2010

Great sunglasses. I love the aviator style touched up with some gold trim. Just the right tint - not too dark, but dark enough to keep the stress of the sun off the retinas.

Eli Hauschild at Backcountry.com on 06/17/2011

I purchased these sunglasses for my little brother's 18th birthday and he never leaves the house without them. I scored bonus points with the stylish design and how well they stay on.

Lindsey at Backcountry.com on 07/19/2010

I'm a big fan of aviators and these are, hands-down, the best I've found. These fit great (wrapping around the face really nicely), are lightweight but durable, and are basically all-around bad-ass.

Eric Olofson at Backcountry.com on 05/26/2010

I wish I had gotten the polarized version....when these wear out (if they ever do!) i'll go for the polarized upgrade!

Neutral Reviews:

These sunglasses look super-cool. A hair on the large side, but very sleek and sexy. That they curve a little around the side unlike other aviators is a bonus, adding additional coverage.
Unfortunately, there's enough visual distortion for me to send them back. Granted I'm picky, but visual distortion is big to me. These gave me a little vertigo/nausea, as though I were walking underwater. There's slight discoloration along the periphery, too, which contributes to the effect. I called Backcountry and the representative was fantastic, recommending (for the visual-distortion sensitive folks like me) more precise lenses like Oakley.

Charlie at Backcountry.com on 06/07/2010

Awesome sunglasses, however, the frames bend fairly easy, kept em in my backpack in a side pocket, pulled em out and the frames were a little distorted, and the lenses popped out.
