Keen Finlay Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

I've been wearing the Austins for a long time now. I couldn't tell you how many miles I've put on them. Anyway, when the time came to replace them, I considered just reordering the same pair, but I went instead with the Finlays. They fit exactly the same as my Austins did, and I hope they last as long. My only gripe is that the Shitake color pictured is not similar to the color I received. I was expecting a mostly light brown shoe, while the colors are more like dark brown leather on the toe and heel, with a light brownish/green for the rest. The look did grow on me though, and honestly they're comfortable enough that I could care less what they look like.

This was the first time I have purchased a Keen brand shoe and it will definitely not be my last! This shoe is very durable weather you are wearing it as a casual, dress, or day hike shoe. The shoe holds up very well in all situations. As for the comfort, this is probably the most comfortable shoe I have ever bought. The sole is soft and fits to your arch. The material inside the shoe is soft and comfortable as well. The only bad thing I would say about this shoe does run a little wide. I have a semi wide foot and it is a little wide for me. Other than that this is a GREAT shoe and is worth the purchase!

This is my third pair of Keen shoes. I discovered them when I needed a new pair of walking shoes while on a vacation last year. My first pair was the Austin model. I liked them so much I ordered the Boston II model upon my return home. My most recent choice is the Finlay model. All are supremely comfortable, durable, and good looking. They're also light weight, making them the perfect shoe for travel. You can walk the entire day in perfect comfort, even in Rome, where the cobbled streets can make long days on your feet, torture in a lesser shoe. These are, hands down, my favorite everyday shoe. As longs a Keen makes them, I'll continue to buy them.

Excellent shoe and I agree with others regarding fit and comfort. However, I would note that if you drive a manual/stick shift car the large toe portion on the Keens are not ideal. It even takes a little getting use to on a car with an automatic transmission. Other than that these are great shoes and when I wear them people ask how/where to buy them. Also, since I have a narrow foot and Keens only come in a medium with I put a Dr. Scholles pad under the Keen insole and the shoe feels perfect.

I needed a nice pair of shoes to wear in wet/snowy conditions with dress khakis and these fit the bill. They are my first pair of Keens and I think the fit true to size. I got the brown/black color and can wear them with either color belt. They are comfy and seem pretty durable after year of light use.

Lightweight and really comfortable. Good arch and metatarsal arch support, which is great for myI plantar fasciitis. can be on my feet for several hour stretches and have no discomfort. Really good styling. Water resistant properties and good grip make these a good winter month shoe. Fit true to size for me.

These shoes do NOT fit true to size. I had to order one whole size smaller than my normal size. They do feel comfortable once I got the correct size, but make sure you order a size smaller than your normal size.

I bought these for my husband who needed something between a tennis shoe and dress shoe. He thinks they are great. They look nice with jeans or khakis and he says they are very comfortable.

True to size too, which I have not found in any of the many different Keen shoes I own! Very nice looking shoes and as always comfy and stable.

These have great arch support and a wide toe box. They run a little big if you are the cusp of sizes, go down.

Negative Reviews:

When the shoe arrived, I was happy with every aspect of the purchase. Great style, fit, comfort and perceived quality. After approximately a week of wear, the sole of the right shoe started an odd chirping sound when I walked, sort of like I was always walking on a wet floor. This sound was accompanied periodically by an odd airy sound...sort of like the sole had punctured. Anyone I walked with could hear it. It was loud enough that I felt like I had to say, "Hey, that's just my shoe making that sound. Just continue talking and pretend you don't hear it." A few days later, the left shoe started making the same airy sound. No chirping yet, but sadly I'm sending them back.
I appreciate Backcountry's return policy and amazing customer service...especially with issues like this.

I wear the Austin shoe throughout the year and love it. I thought I'd go for something a little different and went for this shoe. It runs larger than the Austin and doesn't fit that well. The Austin is insanely comfortable with great support. This one falls short.
