Apex Bionic fabric does a great job at keeping most moisture away and is also very breathable. That means that he can wear it alone in milder temperatures or under a jacket when he is skiing or playing in the snow. To top it all off the Apex Bionic is windproof. He'll be amazed at how warm he stays in this low-bulk, comfortable softshell jacket.

The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

I purchased this jacket for my son for spring/fall seasons and its wonderful! Light, warm, keeps wind and water out, its flexible and great for him to play outside in. My son is 6 years old and average size for his age, the small was actually a little to big for him, but he will grow into it, and can wear it now if I roll the sleeves a little. This coat is just like the adult coat, if you own TNF Apex bionic you know how comfy and light these are. Super happy with this purchase and am ALWAYS happy with Backcountry's customer service and awesome prices. Two thumbs up!

My son has had his black TNF Apex for two years. We may be able to squeeze a third put of it. He's a small 8 yr old and wears a S. Even after MANY washes, this jackets looks brand new! He wears it every day in spring and fall and we've had a mild winter so he's worn it with a sweatshirt underneath all winter. Great jacket, worth every penny even at full price. Not particularly warm so I'd say it's not a ski jacket unless you're spring skiing. Very waterproof though.

I have bought 2 of these for my oldest son and both have worn very well. I wash it frequently because my son wears it ALL the time, I mean he literally sleeps in it sometimes and regardless of the repeated washings, it still looks new. I bought a second one because he outgrew the first one. Highly recommend, very worth the money! Even bought the women's version for myself and experiencing the same, very durable construction and material.

This is a great jacket. I got it for my son for Christmas and he has worn it everyday since. He doesn't usually like coats as they tend to be bulky. He likes that this is lightweight, but still warm. He is 13 and usually wears a mens small, but this XL fits him perfectly. I think it looks very nice and fits well.

The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket was a Christmas gift for my 12-year-old grandson. He was blown away! He put it on immediately as soon as he opened it! Practically speaking, the jacket is lightweight, yet warm, is also water resistant, and very sharp looking. The fit is excellent and true to size.

This jacket just looks really sharp. The quality of the material is good and the colors are true to the picture. My son plans on wearing it as a winter coat and with a sweatshirt it should be fine for everyday use. He will not use it for outdoor sports.

Love the jacket however, it is too small or too big. Jacket needs to be available in size 14/16! Comes in size 10/12 and 18/20 but NOT 14/16. SILLY. Despite, I still love Zappos! the free fast delivery, no hassle return policy is amazing!

This was my first time to order from Zappos. I ordered on a weekend during Christmas time and had my order on my doorstep the following Tuesday! The free shipping is great too. The whole process was so easy--I'll definitely use Zappos again. :)

Love it!

I bought one for my husband and my 10 year old daughter. They both love them, but my daughters jacket didn't come with the straps on the wrist. The picture showed that it did so that was a little disappointing.

NF Apex Bionic Jacket for Grandson

He loved it. Like the waterproof feature. Bought another just like it in the Jonesboro Gearhead store for his younger brother. Also purchased three other NF jackets for my granddaughters. Will be purchasing other NF products in the future.

Negative Reviews:

jacket

This was my first purchase from North Face and it was for my 7 yr old son. Purchased the jacket in hopes that he would not need an additional jacket. Not so much the case, have already purchased a winter jacket . The temp's here are not even near extreme in the winter, and this North Face jacket is not keeping my son warm. Really disappointed.

There needs to be velcro or elastic on the cuffs because the sleeves are too long!

My son ended up with a torn sleep after only wearing it 4 times!
