I have to agree with others that these boots run small. However, I took that into account and ordered a size larger than I typically were in other shoes/boots. While they are a little stiff - at least at first - they are super warm! I haven't had a chance to use them to snowshoe yet, however I broke them in well just showling out the past few snows. My feet are always cold, now matter what I am doing. But with these boots I was completely unware of my feet for the first time in years!
I am on my second winter with my North Face Boots and they have served me well. I wore them today with my snowshoes. My feet stayed toasty warm the entire afternoon. The boots are extremely comfortable and have not packed down. I would say I will get many more years of use out of them. I also love the fact that they zip. No laces to come lose or break. Fabulous boots, would definitely recommend!
I haven't had a chance to try them out in the snow/ice yet, but they are extremely comfortable and stylish. Had a pair of Columbia boots and the rubber rotted and cracked in 2 years time! Hope I have great success with Northface
I ordered 2 pairs, one for my Friend and one for me. I ordered up on both pairs; one size 9 (for me) the other a size 10. I pulled out one box not realizing the size and tried them on. They were the size 10's. Couldn't believe how small they were. I also thought I left some packaging inside the boot because around my heal was very uncomfortable. I realized it was the insole that came up around the heal. I a'm normally an 8 1/2, in these boots I would have needed an 11. Very unhappy, one pair was to be a Christmas present.
When I moved to interior Alaska, I bought these boots in anticipation for the common -40 and -50 below. At the first wear at -30, these kept my feet really toasty and continued to do so. But after a week I ended up having something like an allergic reaction to something in the boots, and I got calluses on my shins.Tried wearing them a couple times and got the same result every time. Had to return them. If you've got sensitive skin, these aren't the boots for you.
Due to the size running small, they were difficult to put on, back of boot was too stiff and uncomfortable. I returned them.
