no longer 600 downfill??
This has been my son's everyday winter coat ever since he was a toddler (bought toddler Nuptses and a big boy Nuptse for my now 5-yr old son). The toddler jakckets were always 550 down fill but the big boy Nuptse (bought last year) he's been wearing has 600 downfill, which I think feels a lot warmer and thicker. He's growing out of his XXS coat so I was ready to buy another Nuptse in XS, only to find out TNF switched the fill to 550. Not as good quality as before but of course it's more expensive this year! I still recommend this jacket because it's stylish and good quality. My son plays hard but this jacket cleans well and comes out as new after every wash. My son generally outgrows a jacket every year and after a winter-long wear, the jacket looks pretty new and whoever gets the hand-me-down is always shocked how nice it looks. It has good water resistance (water drops on it and rolls off!) and wind resistant. This keeps my son warm but not sweaty when it's not that cold outside. We're in Chicago so the winter temps are usually below freezing in winter. He does not look like a snowman either (you know, the over-stuffed look and the child can't move well because he's so bundled up!) It's very light and packable, too. The only negative I find is that it doesn't come with a hood. The moondoggy does but I much prefer the look of Nuptse. It's also a tad shorter than I like but the sleeves are long - as with most TNF jackets in this style.
Ignore the Size Advisor
The jacket seems to be nice quality. I was annoyed that the size chart is not linked to the item page. I made the mistake of using the "size advisor" (using my son's exact measurements) and it told me the right size was XXS. Nowhere did it say that was a size 5, which I never would have ordered for my 6.5 year old. After the XXS arrived, which barely fit my son's torso and provided no room at all, I hunted through the website and found a size chart which shows the XXS is a 5. Why can't the size chart be available with the items, like every other retailer? We had to return for the larger size.
I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of the Nuptse North Face toddler jacket. I have always been a North Face fan, and this jacket is perfect whether it's just a little windy or 10 degrees. While it keeps him warm my son does not sweat in this jacket. I recommend this jacket for anyone looking for a warm, stylish, reasonably priced winter coat! This was my first order on Zappos, and I have since placed 2 more orders... I received the jacket in less time than quoted and shipping was free.
I bought this jacket for my year and half boy. Positive: it is warm, nice color, after 2 months is still clean. Negative: does not have a hood. Note on the size. I bought a size 2 years for my boy (1 and half years old but quite tall): the size is just right.

My son who is 3 loves this coat. He is outside a lot and we live in Montana. This is the second coat. He out grew the last one and would not give it up. Enough said, we love this coat. Comfort, warmth, durability.

I loved this order. These are great coats that are not too bulky. There is mo hood but it makes it better to be in car seat and just wear a hat. I love these.

On Feel I though the coat wouldn't be that warm but with the NY storm hitting again I am very pleased with how warm it kept my son.
This is a great jacket. Very warm. It's easy for my little guy to practice zippering. It washes great, I use old tennis balls in the dryer.

Not Puffy
This child's jacket is not the same quality as the adult version (which I own and like.) It has VERY little down in it and does not look like the product picture. It is not warm enough for winter in Colorado (and probably not fall or spring, either.) I would not purchase again.
VERY disappointed
Extremely disappointed. Paid a lot of money for this North Face jacket and the sleeve ripped the first day my son wore it. Material just ripped in a straight line about three inches.

I had purchased same jacket for my son 2years ago the fill was 600. Same jacket now has 550. Not as warm as older model. Disappointed.
