The North Face Men's Windwall 2 Jacket is not your average mid-layer fleece (unless you only own a bunch of Windwall 2 jackets, in which case this would be YOUR average mid-layer fleece). But apart from that, this puppy is exceptionally soft and warm while still being impressively wind resistant. The WindWall® 2 features a gridded fleece liner insulation and utilizes a unique fabric-bonding process that allows a limited degree of external air permeability. So it can handle itself on its own, but also excels as an insulating layer under a shell.

The Windwall 2 can be worn as a stand-alone jacket or as an insulating mid-layer, so it's good for every day of the winter, and most of the spring and fall as well.
The Windwall is made with Windwall II 200-weight windproof breathable polyester fleece. This completely windproof fabric breathes well to allow sweat vapor to escape so you stay drier and warmer. The regular fit makes it easier to layer a shell over the Windwall for really cold weather. The North Face finished the Windwall with two zippered hand pockets and a chest pocket. Elastic at the cuffs comfortably seal out draft, and the cinch cord at the hem allows you to customize the fit.
