Eminently suitable for bouldering, climbing, and hiking, the men's prAna Stretch Zion Pant (Reg) is built for the varied terrain of its namesake national park. Durable, abrasion-resistant stretch nylon fabric with an all-weather finish has plenty of give and dries quickly. A streamlined adjustable waistband system keeps the pant secure, while a ventilated inseam gusset and mesh pocketing cools you down when things get heated.
The Stretch Zion Pant is a fan favorite due to its stretch fabric, all weather finish (DWR) and excellent versatility. This pant is made with four-way stretch fabric that resists abrasion, dries quickly and (of course) travels well. Prana's most popular climbing pant also features roll and snap legs and zippered cargo pockets.

If Prana has one competitive advantage over its competitors, it is certainly on its hiking pants.
Material: Absolutely amazing, it is robust, durable but still fairly light. It is mostly made out of nylon. It provides great breathability and most important, it stretches enough and allow to perform wide movements. This makes it a great pant for climbing as well. Many people dismiss this point while buying their gears and end up feeling uncomfortable on the trail.
For which season: Very comfortable and breathable, this is a perfect hiking pant for the mid season. It's still too cold for winter climates and you might sweat wearing these by temperatures exceeding 78F. However Prana provide the possibility to roll them up if you start getting hot.
Design: I know performance matters most but let's be honest, you still want to look good in your hiking pants:) I think those pants fit great and actually give a cool look. That's the reason I give them the 5th star; You can wear them around town and the look is pretty sober. However, some people might think the single tiny zipped pocket is not enough. If storing gears in your pockets is important for you, you might think twice before buying them.
Which size: It's a slim fit. Part of the reason I believe they look good. I am 6"1' - 190lb and I bought the Large 32. As you can see on the picture, they fit just fine. You can rely on the size chart provided on this page, it is accurate.
These pants are awesome, no other way to say it. They are super comfortable and once you put them on you barely realize they are there. The stretch material allows freedom of movement in all directions yet still remains durable and withstands the abuse.
The legs have a moderately narrow taper that keeps excess material from getting in the way. In need of some fancy footwork? You can easily roll up the legs to mid calf and secure them with two button snaps.
I have worn these pants on multiple climbing trips on all types of rock. They still look brand new save for one wear spot and that was totally my fault. Take my advice: if you are climbing gnarly offwidth's in the desert... take your car keys out of your pocket! The friction between the rock and the metal wore several small holes in the thigh of the pants.
Last but not least, the pockets on these pants are deep and functional. I hate when climbing pants have pockets that are to small to be useful. Two rear pockets, two hand pockets, and one cargo pocket allow plenty of storage for your keys, wallet, and phone when you run into town for a beer.
I recently got back from a hiking trip where I was the only one in jeans. Everyone else had some sort of hiking pants. I decided I should invest in a pair. I chose the Prana Stretch Zion pants because they had the most reviews. As soon as I received them and tried them on, I was instantly impressed. They (stretch) allow me to bend down without any problem, and the pockets are deep like a pocket should be. The material feels strong enough to withstand a few scrapes.
I am 5'6" 150lbs and got the Med-32in. They fit very well. About an inch long but the extra length will bag up and not slide under my boot.
I also will be riding my mountain bike with these, and do not see an issue with the pants rubbing on the gears.
I'll start by saying these are my favorite new hiking and climbing pants. I will definitely be ordering more.
The material these are made of is super comfortable, stretchy, and durable. A perfect combo for the likes of climbing. Not sure I need the extra cargo pockets, but I suppose they are handy , they definitely don't hurt. Comes with a little adjustable waist cinch belt for tightening, and button things for rolling up the pant legs and securing them (was not immediately aware thats what they were for..) All in all, the fit and the material make these an amazing climbing essential for me.
My only gripe is small, but I wish the pant legs were a little less wide near the ankles. Thats the only thing I MIGHT change about these.
